As a result of the partial spin off agreement of the Turkish Commercial Code, as of 02.01.2020, it started its activities responsibly for the import and sale of Mercedes-Benz branded light commercial vehicles and all passenger car brands under the umbrella of Daimler AG.
From 1967 to 2020, sales and import activities of light commercial vehicles and automobile brands were realized within Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş. were transferred to Mercedes Benz Otomotiv Ticaret ve Hizmetleri A.Ş., which was established on 09.04.2019 in parallel with the new configuration process launched by Daimler AG worldwide.
Within the scope of this new restructuring strategy, it was decided to continue the activities of Automobile & Light Commercial Vehicles and Truck & Bus product groups under two separate legal company structures. Mercedes Benz Otomotiv Ticaret ve Hizmetler A.Ş. have started business on 31.12.2019 and is currently responsible for imports, sales and marketing of Mercedes-Benz branded light commercial vehicles and all passenger car brand under Daimler AG.
Within the scope of Daimler AG’s Global IT Strategy in 2013, Turkey was positioned as one of the information technology bases and Solution Delivery Center Turkey started its activities in Istanbul. Solution Delivery Center Turkey has started its operations under Mercedes Benz Otomotiv Ticaret ve Hizmetler A.Ş as of 31.12.2019. Solution Delivery Center provides 24/7 IT services to more than 40 countries worldwide.
Mercedes Benz Otomotiv Ticaret ve Hizmetler A.Ş employs 450 personnel today. In addition, approximately 4000 people work in the nationwide dealer and after-sales services network.
History of Mercedes-Benz Brand in Turkey:
The company was established in 1967 with a Daimler-Benz partnership under the Otomarsan name in Istanbul Davutpaşa. In 1990, Otomarsan’s trade name was changed to Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş., due to its reputation and acceptance.
Until 31.12.2019, Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş. was carrying out all sales and imports of Mercedes-Benz branded light commercial vehicles and all cars under Daimler AG.
As of 31.12.2019, Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş. has been continuing the Bus and Truck business under the name Daimler Truck AG, a separate entity operating under Daimler AG.
